Hi all,

I made a flight CYHZ-KBGR and got vectors to ILS RWY 33. As usual, but I have noticed that ATC left me completely perpendicular at RWY 33 (almost abeam), at a distance of 10 NM and at an altitude of 3000' being absolutely impossible for me to make an ILS landing because I couldn't get the glide slope (flying at 150 Kts IAS).

Is there any solution that could leave me more oriented to the glide slope?

I don't know if requesting 'Cleared to Finals' (Hotkey 1) just after Approach told me the runway, I would be free to land at my own without following the vectors and directions given from Approach.

I attach the "Log" folder and the FP. (Using FS9).

Thanks in advance,

Well it's quite difficult working solely with data and nothing visual but by what I'm looking at you appeared to be south of Phillips Lake and west of Goose Pond. From that position it looks like you had been correctly vectored and turning to the heading given to you by ATC you should have picked up the ILS without any problem. I'm not doubting what you say but can only go by what the log is showing when you were told to turn to a heading of 300 and then being cleared for the ILS the user data was showing

Ulat: 44.6658473936068 ULon: -68.6090536049707 UHdg: 234 UAlt: 2965 UIAS=158 UGS=169

This gives your Lat/Lon, heading, altitude, IAS and ground speed

Hi Dave,

From what you say, I'm sure I have done something wrong (I'm a little scatty lately  ).

I'll repeat the flight paying more attention.

Thank you.

If you've recently added any scenery for this particular area make sure you run the database rebuild

I'm coming there this afternoon from LFBO Toulouse to see if I can mess up another ILS approach and landing and then blame Dave! ;)

Hi there again,

In the end, Dave-and PF3-were right. This afternoon I repeated last Monday's flight and I realized that my error consisted in not attending in time to one of the changes of course indicated by the ATC.

This time I've caught the glide slope correctly and the turn has been smooth and precise.

Thanks for the hints/directions.
