Post subject: | VAC Voice Recognition in PFE? |
Recently did a reformat of my "C" drive and reinstalled Win7. I have a total backup. Still, I have not been able to reinstall or get Game Commander 2 to work now (Used for many years and reinstalled in the past with no problem.) Of anyone knows a solution here, please reply with your help. As an alternate, I downloaded and installed the Voice Attached Command (VAC) Program. I am having trouble implementing it in PFE probably due only to my ignorance. I have a trial version giving me the next thirteen days to evaluate it before a purchase. In the fear that time will run out before I learn how to get it to work, I thought possibly someone else had already been down this road, so I would like to ask the following questions: 1. First of all, anyone out there using this program successfully for PFE? 2. Possibly, is there a detailed tutorial anywhere specific to VAC for PFE/PF2000? 3. GC2 had a profile for FS commands. Is there anyway to import such a file from anywhere for VAC? What I have done so far: A. In VACBuilder under File\New Profile, I entered a new profile named "PFE". B. Under Action Description, I entered "Checking In", "Radio Check", and "Position Report". C. Under Command List, I added Command 2 and 3 to the existing Command 1. I assume that these match the action descriptions in sequence, (ie: Checking in - Command 1, Radio check - Command 2, Position Report - Command 3) D. For each, I selected L-CTRL as a Qualifier Key. E. For Checking in I entered "0" as my Character Key (PFE Keyboard Key for this command) F. For Radio Check I entered "6" as my Character Key (PFE Keyboard Key for this command) G. For Position Report I entered "9" as my Character Key (PFE Keyboard Key for this command) H. For Success Phrase, I selected a click wave from the another program. When for example I test by saying "Checking In", I do hear that wav sound. I. My System tray does show the mike Icon with the P for profile when I try to run VAC J. I never hear a response when I give any of these three commands with FS and PFE running, and the correct frequency for ATC at my selected airport location. K. When I try "TestPhrase" and say "Checking In". the VAC Builder result is as follows: Profile Loaded is PFE VAC Status is Voice is on Play Sounds is checked (I hear my chosen click wave) Action is Checking In Recognized Phrase is Checking In Command Set 1 Qualifier L-CTRL Extended NONE Extemded2 None Characters 0 Duration 50 Pause 25 Repeat 1 Toggle True Sound played pf_pclick.wav/ Under Profile Activation Keys VAC On/Off Keys is lighted with Key 1 None Key 2 None Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. hello I use VAC along with PFE and Radar Contact. Have you set up a button press in Fsuipc to send the correct Push to talk key to PFE? What key are you using for your profile activation key on the profile attributes tab, I have mine set to NONE + INS with the default action selected, then in Fsuipc I have programmed a button on my yoke to send the INS key with key to be held selected. The problem is that when FSX has the focus your keypress is not set to VAC so you need Fsuipc to send it Make sure also that your VAC icon is showing the little green O. VAC works superbly here, very accurate recognition and the really nice thing is that you are able to have multiple phrases per command which allows your resposes to be more varied. If you PM me your email I will send you my VAC profile and some screen shots of my settings. If i get some time this afternoon I will take some screenshots, put them up on my image hosting site and put the links on here.
