Please try a stock aircraft rather than a 3rd party please.

Tried with the stock Carenado Bonanza. Same result. P3D crashes when switching to the modified panel.

I don't know if this makes a difference, because the Carenado's are stocky enough, but I think Dave L. meant something like the default C172 that is included with P3D :)

The Carenado Bonanza is included with P3D. And I don't think the aircraft makes a difference, it's the TGS.gau file that makes P3D crash.

I made a last test for you regarding this issue and tried the Piper Cub that comes with P3D. I hope that is ,"default" enough ;)

Same result (I'm using P3D V3.0). I send you the Panel.cfg file. I added the line to the radio stack.

Just had a look and i'm stuck as to why it won't load...it won't load in FSX-Steam Edition either so i'm wondering if P3D and FSX-SE are very similar in files(Gold and Accelleration) installed.
Obviously something is blocking them so only use standalone app for now until i can work something out but it's not looking promising
