Sounds like a nice feature and I will certainly give it some thought

If only the Remote Text window were visible in a VR headset... but I realise of course that that is a very tall order

I understand that the Web Display in-game display, which can include Remote Text, works quite well in a VR setup.

Hi. I must admit, I have never tried your WEB Display feature: I didn't really associate it with use in VR. I will look through the pdf file and give it a try - and will post in a separate thread if I have any questions or problems? Thank you.

Since the "waypoint is too close" warning window pop up is a warning for the user that such waypoints may not work well with PF3, why not have the program provide an option that automatically removes those waypoints that are too close. tc

That would be going back to how it used to work and we were inundated with complaints about pf3 removing waypoints.

Hi Dave,

I have a suggestion for a future update/beta:

I fly exclusively using a VR Headset (Quest 3), Voice Recognition (Voice Attack) and PF3 Virtual CoPilot Mode 2 (without the +Nav option) set in Options 1, so this suggestion comes from that point of view.

There are some airports where the Hold Short location is part-way along the RW or the author has either not included, or has misaligned, the Node at the Hold Short location. When tuned to Ground, this can result in the VCP not being told to contact Tower for TO and the A/C just sits there in silence. Currently, using a VR Headset, the options available to progress beyond this are 1), Make a mental note of Tower frequency at the start of your flight, dial it in yourself and manually request TO clearance or 2), Fire up the In-Game Web Display to query the Tower frequency, tune it in from there, and manually request TO clearance. Both of these options spoil the immersion somewhat if using a VR Headset.

This "problem" is in no way any fault of PF3. I imaging PF3 can only react to what is provided by the scenery author. In the past, you have said that you feel obligated to resolve these shortcomings, even though they are not of your making, and we are all grateful that you do. With that in mind, my suggestion is for some way for PF3 to provide a way to more seamlessly progress if this "problem" occurs.

My suggestion is a global HotKey to auto-tune to Tower (or even the Next) frequency, at which point you could then manually request TO clearance. I don't think this would necessarily require any voice feedback from the VCP, but if there was a possibility of some acknowledgement from the VCP that would be awesome.

Hope this is of interest to you.

Take care.

Bill

Hi Bill, I'll certainly give this some thought. What I usually do is just keep creeping forward till the call is triggered.

Yes, I use the creeping forward technique too ☺️. But it doesn’t work in all situations ☹️

You could try setting the standby frequency in your COM1 radio to the Tower frequency before you start taxiing; when ready you can simply use an MSFS hotkey (should be Alt-U) to copy Standby to Active and then use PF3 hotkey 6 to call the Tower.

Hope this helps,
Martin
