Greetings!

I am preparing to get back into Flight Simulator after an unplanned absence, and some of it seems a bit distant now.

One thing I have done in preparation is to attempt to update to the latest Beta of PF3. But what I am finding is that of all of the three Betas available above cause PF3 to fail to load. A window comes up "System check in progress" and then vanishes, but nothing more happens.

Reverting to my last version 3.21.9, everything loads OK.

Is there something else I need to update that I have missed? Noted that the "readme" requires a database update but that can't be done until it has loaded.

John

Hi John,

Welcome back and I hope whatever it was that caused your unplanned absence has now been sorted.

You probably missed this from a previous beta (3.21.13)

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This Beta also includes a change to one of our DLL files named FPP_Net.dll

This file MUST be copied into your main PF3 folder and then follow these steps

1. Ensure PF3 is NOT running

2. Locate the file named PF3_Register.exe in your main PF3 folder

3. Right-click the file and select 'Run as Administrator' (you won't see anything displayed)

4. Wait 10 seconds

5. Start PF3

Bingo! Perfect answer as always, Dave, thank you.

Now I need to see if I can remember how to fly a DC-3. A pilot I knew 20 years ago told me flying one was no harder than driving a car so I'm in with a chance. :)

And I haven't been "inside" (!) but will be absent again at some point in 2024 but hopefully won't need to ask any questions next time.

Very best regards,

John
