You got me excited about a nice feature in 3.18 (ATC freqs pulled from Navdata vs made up freqs). Any estimate on a release timeline? And is it safe to assume that as Navdata is changed/updated with AIRAC releases that PF3 would use those also? I assume that the AIRAC data is where the freqs would pull from...

Cheers, mike

PS - So I was flying my AAL flight from KMIA - MGGT (Guatemala City) on the return leg the ATIS at MGGT had an Irish accent (at least is sounded Irish to me)...I had to laugh. I guess there are expats everywhere!

PF3 frequencies have always been taken from FS, with the exception of departure/ approach. With 3.18 these will also be retrieved from the sim. It's done on the fly, when you load your flight plan, so when/if the sim is updated the frequencies will be too. Even so, there's always a chance that the departure/approach frequencies will need to be tweaked to prevent clashes with other frequencies. The way PF3 works we can't have duplicates with the previous/ next waypoint data. Also, departure frequencies aren't always available for some reason.

Sounds great - I know in the US if a specific departure is not given then the "approach control" (or center) pulls double duty. I'm sure that's common everywhere.

What's the timeine?

You should know better than to ask that. As soon as a developer mentions a date something goes wrong.

All I will say is my new approach to PF3 is to provide smaller and more frequent updates. ;)
