Runway changes on every approach

Anyone else having runways changes on every approach? Since the last update, every flight I am issued a runway clearance and then within a minute I receive a runway change. I know this happens in real life, but not every single flight. I have adjusted the settings to only check for the active runway one time, but it still assigns me a new runway. I am using the live weather option as well.

Anyone else having this issue?

Please zip and post the debug_monitor.log file (located in your PF3\Logs folder) after an affected flight so we can see what's going on.

There's not a single 'runway change' in the log you provided. Next time it happens please grab the log immediately after completing your flight and attach it her

I've had this happen often (but not on every flight) and I think it's due to low wind speed making the runway in use a toss up. I'll try to zip it up the next time i see it also just for another case to look at - while it's fixable in the cockpit by requesting a different runway I wish MSFS gave better connectivity to AI and allowed for preferential routing/runways...for example when you can see the flow of traffic is all landing to the west but you are getting vectored for a landing to the east because the winds aren't an issue. Not really a PF3 problem...and something that can be addressed in real time...but it's a "simism".

Well as the AI traffic is increasing now in MSFS, due mainly to Covid restrictions being lifeted and also to Asobo fixes whatever it was they had to fix so we can now 'see' said traffic, it 'shouldn't' be too much of a problem going forward. PF3 always checks first to see which runway AI traffic are using and uses the same one to assign to your approach. If, at that time. there are no AI aircraft on route to or leaving your destination airport then PF3 will use wind direction to determine the best runway.

Well this is rather strange. It would appear the online live weather system we use is not always returning the wind direction, therefore it defaults to zero (360 degrees). Obviously the online weather system is nothing to do with me so not much I can do about that. However, this was only meant to be an interim measure until (a) Asobo fixed the weather interface for FSUIPC or (b) Fixed the sim weather. I know (a) is still not functioning but maybe (b) is better these days.

So, as a suggestion/test, for your next few flights do NOT select to use 'Live Weather' when prompted and let PF3 use the FS weather. Unfortunately that does me if using ACARS to check the weather at your destination it won't actually work! I'll be interested to see how you get on.

In the meantime I'll raise the issue with the online weather support team and also see if there's anything I can do as a workaround.

This can happen if the weather station does not supply the wind direction.

This is a source limitation and not a bug!
