Since the latest update (3.10.50), I have been receiving weird runway assignments from the Tower when flying VFR in MSFS. It only happens on approach. As an example, today I flew from KBKL (Burke Lake) to KFMD (Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport). Tower assigned 24L as landing runway. There is no runway 24L at KFMD. The runway nearest to that bearing is runway 23, which would be the correct runway assignment given the winds. This has happened at several other airports since the last update. It happened at KFDK (my home airport) the other day. Again I was assigned a non existent runway (I believe 36) when the runway assignment should of been runway 30.

Every towered approach since the update, I have had this issue.

Also, the runway database was updated just prior to flight.

I attached the log files for today's flight.

Well there certainly does seem to be an issue there. I will obviously look into it and if need be get a fix out ASAP. However, I'm unlikely to be able to do much over the next couple of days unfortunately. Due to our lockdown restrictions being lifted last week (or some of them) we have family visiting tomorrow who we haven't seen for 18 months so I'll be out of action till late Tuesday. Sorry about that but as I always say, family and the real world must always come first.

Please give me a nudge on Wednesday if I haven't reported back by then.

One more thing....today flew an IFR flight... under IFR gave correct runway assignment. However, I noticed the approach vector instructions over shot the ILS by a couple of miles.. Gave instructions to capture ILS, but was weird how it overshot and sent me back...log files attached.

Okay, I believe I have corrected your original issue with the incorrect runway assignment. If you wish to retry with the attached interim version and report back that would be most helpful.

Your vectored approach was exactly as i would expect, since you were assigned runway 9R and approaching from where you were ATC would have to take you over and around the ILS track of 9L. Without doing so you could have been in a very dodgy place being vectored around the FAF for 9L with the possibility of other traffic using that runway simultaneously.

Sorry to ask what might seem a really stupid question, but did you copy it into your main PF3 folder?

If you did, does it appear on the taskbar? If it does then It would seem you have managed to somehow move PF3 off-screen. Here's how to get it back. Hold your Shift key down and Right-click on the PF3 taskbar icon, then select 'Move' from the popup menu. Release the Shift key and use one of your keyboard Arrow keys. Now move your mouse and PF3 should appear on screen again.

Did a couple of test flights. The issue seems to be resolved. I attached log files from the last flight in case you need to look at them.

Thanks again for the quick fix.

Great, thanks for reporting back.

Please note, when the next 'official' update is made available you will not be automatically informed by PF3, due to you having an interim (beta) version installed. The easiest way for you to update to the 'official' version is by using the cumulative updates package from this forum, which is always updated when the new release is available.

Please keep an eye out for release announcements on this forum.
