Cannot load flightplans - gives error 9, then exits PF3. Happens with every flightplan of P3D V5. Tried it also with fplans from FSX with the same result. Problem started after latest update (3.10.50). I uninstalled PF3 and re-installed it with the original software I bought, including the latest update but the problem persists. Help will be appreciated.

The error in the FPP log is
Quote:
Input string was not in a correct format.
So have you run MakeRwys recently? I would suggest running it again and if you still have the same problem I would like to see all the files from your PF3\Data folder with P3D in the name. eg PF3_P3D_Freq.dat, PF3_P3D_Gates.dat, etc.

Hi Dave,
I did a rerun with the latest MakeRwys and rebuilt my database in PF3. Made no difference. However, I saw that in the same data folder that the four LU*.dat files have been cleaned out to 0 KB after I ran the database update???? Find attached the PF3_P3D_* files you requested. hope it helps.

If those files have are showing as zero bytes then you have a problem with the rebuild. Please let me see the DebugRebuild.log from your PF3\Logs folder

Well there is something very wrong with your Runways.csv file, which is created by MakeRwys. You could ZIP that and attach is if you like and I'll check it out and see if I can spot the problem.

I take back what I said.... there's nothing wrong with your Runways.CSV file as I've just used it here to rebuild my P3D database and it works just fine.... so I'm running out of ideas. One thing that crossed my mind are you sure you're running an updated version of PF3. I know you said you did a fresh install. What version is shown on the main display when you start PF3?

Edit: Sorry, you didn't say you reinstalled so I think that's the best thing to do now. No need to uninstall first just use the cumulative updates from the forum to reinstall the latest version then try again

I have v3.10.50 at the moment. Seems to me that a reinstall is the logical solution. This might 'repair' those LU_-files that were zapped to 0 Kb as well. I attach the other log-files as well. Is the info in the xdebug.log of any significance?

I really appreciate your assistance to try and solve this problem. I will let you know what the outcome is.

Regards.
Leon

Hi Dave,

Did a reinstall but still have the same problem. I then installed it on my laptop (very vanilla) and the same problem occurred. If I run the data rebuild it zaps the LU-files to zero and in the Debugrebuild.log it shows errors eg:

24 May 2021 11:05:20 - There was a problem processing record #21014 data follows...
24 May 2021 11:05:20 - Error #2 from 2210 RC: 21014 ICAO: FAGG RWY: 0110 LAT: -34.005859 LON: 22.366362 ALT: 648 HDG: 112 LEN: 6955 ILS: 109,5
24 May 2021 11:05:20 - There was a problem processing record #21014 data follows...
24 May 2021 11:05:20 - Error #2 from 2220 RC: 21014 ICAO: FAGG RWY: 0110 LAT: -34.005859 LON: 22.366362 ALT: 648 HDG: 112 LEN: 6955 ILS: 109,5

All runways are shown twice, whereas in the runways.csv file it shows it correctly (normal). Nothing wrong in the csv-file.

It seems to me that the problem might be in the PF3 Data rebuild part of FP3 because the moment it shows 'Parsing 2' it kills the LU-files to 0KB. This might be the reason that the flight plans do not load and crashes PF3 with 'Error 9'. I don't really know.

I will however try and see if I can find the cause of this problem.

Regards.

Leon
