I do not like the new VFR communications setup. In the United States we do not use "Radar", when flying VFR - Flight Following. If within a TRACON's airspace, the controlling authority would be either "approach" or "departure". If not within TRACON's airpspace, then the appropriate "center" would be the controlling authority. Additionally, when flying IFR in the United States and under a Center's airspace, the TRACON would be the controlling authority. The aircraft would be handed off to the next TRACON facility leaving and entering the next TRACON's airspace. If not within a TRACON boundary, then the appropriate Center would be the controlling facility.
In the the new version of PF3 this does not happen. Even when flying IFR under a Center's airspace, you are told to contact "radar" at the first waypoint when still inside a TRACON's airspace. Older versions handled this properly, the new version does not. Can this be rectified?
I hope this makes sense....
