Hello,
I'm using PF3 together with X-Plane and the PFEtoXplane plugin. My PF3 database is created from an old FS9 installtion. For using the database I copied all the database files named with FS9 to *FSX* (e.g. PF3_FS9_Runways.dat -> PF3_FSX_Runways.dat). It seems this method works quite well. Except for the taxi instructions. The controller's instructions include not only the taxiways that lead me directly to the runway, but also the taxiways that turn onto my path from the right or left. So the taxi instructions are getting very long and also confusing.

Jens

Unfortunately this would be a very, very difficult and time consuming task to give a precise and definite answer to you, but my 'guess' would be the AFCAD file for LFMN is incorrect. We can only use the data created by MakeRwys and that in turn scans the various scenery files to create the data. The intersections are probably mapped incorrectly... it would only take a slight difference to cause this.

Have you experienced it elsewhere?

Same for EDDC (stock) and EDDS (stock). Attached the log for EDDS. I got M I N F E C B A for rwy 25 from ATC.
I tried also EDDF from Aerosoft. That seems to work.
Can you give me some hints on 'intersections are probably mapped incorrectly'?

Btw. is there any tool available to translate the log files into a human readable format?

Thanks,
Jens

Sorry but I have absolutely no knowledge of AFCAD files, etc. All I do is use the data created by MakeRwys. It may well be it's because you're using data created from FS9 files and applying the logic to XPlane... I really don't know, sorry.

The PF3 log files are for internal use only

This does actually happen in FSX, too. Its something that I have got completely used to and comparison with an airport map makes it perfectly clear where I need to go, and I just ignore the mention of the intersecting taxiways. The taxi guidance system is not distracted by this and gives correct instructions.

The only way I can think of to cope with this is to amend the AFD file to have a short link connecting to the main taxiway without an identifier. For me, it isn't worth the hassle.

Thank you. I will ignore the taxi instructions in the future.
