Hi Everyone,

I have only attempted to use Designated Parking Control twice; and on both occasions on descent passing approximately FL160 the whole sim froze (with the spinning blue mouse wheel). The sim does not crash however it does not recover either and the only way to exit is to go into task manager and end the program.

The Debug_Monitor.Log is attached.

The flight was from VTBS (Bangkok) to WIII (Jakarta). The gate I had selected is G31. The WIII airport is an add-on airport (BinerSim - Soekarno Hatta), and the aircraft was the PMDG 777-300ER (latest version) using P3Dv4 4.5.14.34698.

I did select the gate after PF3 connected to FS, whilst still on the ground in VTBS,

Kind regards,

Mark

I can assure you that FS freezing has absolutely nothing to do with PF3 and Designated Parking, which we only check once you've landed and cleared the active runway. The log certainly shows PF3 is no longer able to access any data via FSUIPC but as you say FS froze.

I'm afraid you need to be looking elsewhere for the cause

Thanks Dave, that is interesting. It must be this particular airport, as I only have attempted Designated Parking Control at this airport, because of the way AI fill the gates (a 737 will park at a Heavy gate).

I have only tried to fly into it twice, so DCP was just a coincidence... it looks like it has some type of loading issue then, as it happens when you are in the ‘range’ for the airport to appear. I shall look there!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Dave,

It appears that my P3Dv4 WIII installation had a P3Dv5 patch applied to it, which was causing the crash. I must have not read the fine detail of the patch that was sent via Simmarket (it would appear that it was a manually applied patch last year).

However since then, the installer has been updated, so I uninstalled, cleaned all remaining files up, and redownloaded a fresh install, and that appears to have solved the problem.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Kind regards,

Mark
