Thanks Dave. Yes odd indeed. I flew 2 other flights that day with no issues like that. And checked my charts and the ATIS freq was spot on.

Loaded up a flight at Paine Field KPAE and tuned atis but got silence.

thank you both for your replies. i will give the AI trick a try. when all else fails there's CTL SHF W to request the other runway, which i've been doing as to not take off with a tailwind.

About one out of every 5 or 6 flights i notice that the runway for departure is directly opposite the winds at the airport. screen attached on the most recent one. rwy 29/11 (295/115) Just wondering if there is a way to get the system to choose a more appropriate departure runway. I found out the issue. User error! As usual.
I had live weather on and had not reset my altimeter. its about a 450 foot difference. I guess that's what did it. Just retried it with proper alt setting and tower answered the call for clearance. thanks Dave.

I think in the US now, prime air is called prime air even though they started out as transmeridian.
