Hi, I have repaired and uninstalled and reinstalled FDC and get the following error when I start FDC. Error 58: - File already exists in 'CheckiniFile' routine. Can you point me in the right direction to eliminate this problem please? Ron |

Never had this before,only suggestion is try and find FDC in uninstallshield folder and delete it after removing it from Control Panel first. You will need to turn on "Show hidden files and folders" first,to do this goto Start,type in the box show hidden files and folders and activate it,once done goto the uninstallshield folder which should be in Program files. Try this and let us know how you get on please.. |

David, Did as requested:- 1. Uninstalled from control panel. 2. Activated 'show hidden files and folders' from start button. 3. In C:/program files/uninstall information - folder is empty. 4. Reinstalled. No error 58 but when I try to open FDC the splash screen appears and then disappears. The first time I opened FDC I got a reminder to idicate YES for automatic updates, which I pressed. Hi Ron, I see that you installed FDC in the program files directory : best is to install Flightsimulator and FDC outside of the program files folder , like C:\FDC C:\FSX(FS9) |

Hi, Still no joy. Installed to C: and have the same problem. I get the opening screen and then that disappears. The desktop icon has changed to a square with two green boxes and a blue arrow in right bottom corner but the same result after double clicking this icon. Again after reinstalling the question do I want to allow updates, I clicked YES. If I clicked NO I can't see what difference this might make. Regards Ron |

Hi, OK. I right clicked the icon and went to open file location where I right clicked the application icon and the prompt was that it may not have installed correctly. So I pressed resinstall and the instal wizard flashed for a few seconds and then BINGO its up and running. Strange to me but you may have an answer as to why this happened. Happy Ron |
