I have just returned to FSX after a long hiatus since FS2000. One of the reasons was the availability of PFE. This was going to enable me to enjoy FSX as much as I enjoyed FS2000 with PF2000. I purchased PFE Deluxe the other day & installed it. I have followed the instructions as per the manual & successfully compiled an ADV file. This was confirmed by PF2000 & by the presence of 3 new files in the PFE\FS2000\ADV directory corresponding to the flight plan I had created in FSX.
However, when I load the ADV file & connect to FSX, nothing further happens. I do not receive any comms from PF2000 & am unable to use any commands. The FSUIPC window does inform me that I am running the relevant ADV file. On the drop down menu for Add-ons, there is an option for stopping PFE so I assume it is working. The other Add-ons menu option is FSUIPC (I installed the latest version 4). None of the commands work except for Ctrl+Shift+V for the virtual co-pilot. The change in co-pilot is confirmed in the FSUIPC window.
I am running Vista 32 on a quadcore machine if this is relevant.
I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

At least that tells me you are not running the very latest version of PFE (2.11.1) and since that is the only version supported I would suggest you update then try again. If you still experience difficulties then please come back to us here

Thanks for your reply Dave. You're right that I am running V2.6. I assumed by using the 'check for update' function it would update to the latest version. Obviously it hasn't. I'll try the update
& see how it goes.
Thanks again for the advice.

Ivan.

Hi Dave,

I've updated PFE to Version 2.11.1. The ADV file seems to compile properly which was confirmed by PF2000 & by the presence of 3 new files in the PFE\FS2000\ADV directory corresponding to the flight plan I had created in FSX. However, I am unable to generate any comms once running FSX. None of the hotkeys seem to work.
When I try to reset the defaults in PFE for the hotkeys the following error message is displayed & PFE shuts down:
Run-time error '381
Invalid property array index.
It does seem that the PFE adventure is running in the background but I am unable to access it due to non-functioning hotkeys.
I'd appreciate any further advice you might have.

Thanks.
Ivan

You need to send me a debug_monitor.log file from the PFE\Logs folder and tell me which hotkeys you wer trying to use

Received but it shows you did not press any hotkeys at all.

I have emailed you to ask if you're running PFE on the same pc as FS or on a client via WideFS?

Hi Dave,

I am running PFE on the same PC as FS. I'm not using WideFS. I think the log file documents the problem I'm experiencing ie: PFE isn't registering when I press a hotkey.
I tried all the hotkey combinations including 0 thru 9 followed by several Ctrl+Shift+key combinations with no result.

Regards

Ivan
