I'm having trouble getting the display program to run- I have set it as "run as administrator", and the closed caption mode in the options is checked. When I try to run the .exe, I get the "thinking" circle for a few seconds and then nothing- the program will not start. The folder is created properly in the FS9 folder, but no window pops up. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

thanks

It will only work on multi display according to the manual.

It can work on a single monitor, but will have to have FS minimised to see it.

Best viewed on dual monitor setup..

Hi Dave,

I tried it but it wouldn't start. Is it because I am running win7? I have uac off and I run it on admin.

From what I can gather It should function as a stand alone program in the background- I know I have to minimize FS to see it, but my problem is that it won't start at all.

PFE Displayer does work with Windows 7-64bit,no problem there..

Did any of you guys have it running on previous systems(if any) or just on win 7.

You could try right clicking on PFE Displayer.exe....click properties.....click on compatibility and change it to use win xp sp3 and then try running it again.

When installing PFE(not in C:\Program Files) as a whole, did you remember to turn off all security and firewall when installing?

Try this for now...

I didn't try it on another system.

I did try the win xp compatiablilty but it didn't work and I did turn off my anti-virus during installation under C: , but I did not turn off firewall. Could it be it? Should I reinstall PFE?

I've reinstalled two times, once in program files and once in the C/ root. Whenever I try to start it I get the blue windows 7 "thinking" wheel for a few seconds and then nothing. This is with/without XP compatibility and the "run as administrator" option. Firewall was off when installing both times.

Have you read the part in the manual about the program needing to have access to the main fs folder?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S

Part of support implies that you read what I originally post. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT FOR A NETWORKED PC. I just want to have the displayer open in the background so I can see what the options for me to say are. I UNDERSTAND I'LL HAVE TO ALT+TAB. I just want the program to run in the first place! It's successfully created the displayer folder in the main fs9 folder- but the .exe isn't opening! I can't make the problem any clearer.

The reason I would really like to have this is that I'm having a bad problem with commands becoming unresponsive. Just now, I got through with an infuriating experience- I'm sitting at the gate at Frankfurt. Contact ground, ask for pushback and start, all of which is ok. I'm told to contact ground again when it's time for taxi. Then, "/" doesn't do anything!!! I can hit it all I want, but I don't acknowledge it, with the result that when I check again, I'm stuck asking for pushback clearance again! Then, I turned on the virtual co-pilot and asked for pushback clearance, and now it finally works as he acknowledges. Then I turn the copilot off, and ask for taxi. Ground gives me 25L instead of 25R. So I turned off the TGS guidance, and tried to request a runway change, only now ctrl+shift+W doesn't do anything, so I can't get the new runway.

So far, PFE has had fantastic voices and atmosphere, and very good way of handling sid/stars, and lots of other positives, but it has been aggravating beyond belief to get it to work. Out of the four flights I have tried, only one has functioned as I expect it. And please don't tell me to reinstall- I have twice, UAC has been off since the day I got the computer, firewall was off, it's not installed under "program files", etc.

thanks
