Post subject: | FDC "Error 9" |
Hello, I have been using FDC for years now always a pleasure(Curently FSX & FDC version 3.8.3 & Vista) hardly any problems and using different aircraft. I recently installed a new third party aircraft a business jet everything working fine using FDC until I'm on approach and just after I finish my approach chklist, FDC aborts with the message "Error 9: Subcribt ot of range in 'MonitorDecent' routine." I have totally no idea what this is trying to tell me does anyone? This has happend now twice in a row so I know I don't have to wonder what the third approach will be knowing nothing has been corrected yet. thx |

It sounds like you have too many or not enough flap settings configured in your performance file. Also your version of fdc is unsupported, please update to version 3.14 using the cumulative updates package from this forum Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S |

Post subject: | Re: FDC "Error 9" |
I'm still having problems with fdc errors I checked the flaps settings etc varified with actual situation inside cockpit and aircraft config file, loaded new files but no changes. To explain this much better I have made some screen shots but I notice that I cant upload anything so I think you can help with that Dave this would speed things up quite a bit. I would be grateful for the priviledges so I could attach my images to further explain my problem. Regards |

Post subject: | Re: FDC "Error 9" |
Just for the record: My version of fdc is already 3.14 I didn't realize this at first until doing a re-check so this whole episode took place in an already up to date fdc program. |

Here is a copy of the aircraft config. Solved: After fully checking the settings on the wilco citation fdc performance file from Dave Leesley that I downloaded, I noticed that the changes (that I myself) had made trying to fix this compatibility problem, were not good. This concerns the number of flaps positions, it comes down to this: The citation-x that I posted here, does not have the corresponding flap positions/settings to match the Dave Leesley file for the wilco citation which I expected work seeing an aircraft should have the same flap settings as another identical aircraft carrying the same name. So from the begining fdc would refuse to connect when I loaded this aircraft with the Dave leesley wilco citation file with the error message saying the cockpit settings in fdc & the actual aircraft do'nt match. Then I adjusted the wilco file but made some mistakes wich caused my approach problems. So after(correctly) editing the wilco file to match this aircraft then it all worked. Maybe this could be helpful for someone: Trying to use this citation-x that I posted here, with the performance file from Dave Leesley for the wilco citation-x will not work, which is strange because a citation-x is a citation-x the flaps settings are not the same editing the wilco file is necessary or better making a new one. |

Unfortunately companies don't seem to all sing from the same hymn sheet when making 3rd party aircraft as in your case,PSS Concorde and SStSim are two classic cases... |
