Post subject:  No radar change and star's procedure incorrect

Hi everyone, after a hard installing work finallt I ve started to use this interesting software, I m flying with a Boeing 738NG Ifly and of course I navigate with FMC.

I ve try to do couple of flight and in both I had uncorrect star procedures. But the weird thing it's been when I was descending to my destination airtport (LIPE) from (LFOB); no change radar, after changed to Zurich control, no more changing!!! with miles of silence on the radio frequency!!!! another thing is, in both of the case ATC told me that I was miles away form the airway???????? check position?? my flight plan was filled on!!!!!! what's that??? how is it possible? and the radar change to milan? where is?

there are so many thing that I cannot still understand good about PFE. Have also decided my ILS approach and the tower vectored me in a wrong way. sooooo late with the localizer....mah...as well the turorial on the manual are not so clear at all.

cheers.

Hi,

Wrong STAR/Runway assignment might be a result of using ASE DWC. If it's the case try using latest 647 build with "wind lock" feature and maybe try enabling >Destination WX Zone<, personally I switched do "Smooth Wind Transitions" mode and now everything regarding runway assignment works alright.

About the airway warnings, just disable them by setting >Airway Deviation Distance=0<, it doesn't work for me either.

About vectoring, yes that's another thing to avoid... But you can make it usable to some point by setting desired >Minimum FAF Alt< in >SID's/STAR's< options, sometimes you'll get correct vectoring, but always very close to FAF and from time to time closer to runway than to FAF... ;)
If you're flying some GA aircraft and use vectoring you can expect command like "reduce speed to 60 knots" while flying Cessna Mustang etc, but for airliners this one works alright so far.

Unfortunately I can't help you with that radio problem, does it happen always or was it one timer?

Even with all it's limitations I still prefer PFE over default ATC, but sometimes regret that I didn't choose that "other product", I hope this feeling will change over time and with help of few updates.

Regards,

thanks a lot for your answer, I will try to set on "0" the airway deviation distance. For that program, I use REX, and sincerly I don't really know why they assigned me a wrong star...for the radio problem. fortunately it comes out just once, now I have to try again and we will see.. ;).

Of course is much much better then FS atc, but to completely understand this program I guess you need a lot of time.
