Hi, First, thanks for all you've done to make this program the best. I have both RC4 and PFE and I fly PFE more than any other. Version 2.14 is working beyond my expectations and I have flown both long and short sorties with no issues as far as ATC goes. 1. I was wondering how I can make PFE even better by having ATC call out the correct airlines. For instance, a call to an AI Candler bird comes out like "C A N 487" rather than "Candler 487" and a call to a Marines aircraft is "M A R 322" rather than "Marine 322". It's no big deal but if it's possible I would like to change this. My software is: FSX PFE 2.14 myTrafficX It could be just that myTrafficX is the cause, but RC4 and the default ATC both call out the correct airline names (I think - I haven't used either one for some time now). 2. Also, is there any tutelage available for flying from uncontrolled airports? I don't get how to get clearance and properly transitioning to CTR to fly my route. I have been stumbling through it by contacting FSS, asking for clearance (they say "Roger, will open flight plan at 8" or something like that, but I have no idea what that means. Once I take off, I then press '4' to get CTR frequency and ATC blasts me for "forgetting my charts" but the experience just isn't smooth. What should I be doing for uncontrolled airports? I'm definitely doing it all wrong. I have skimmed the manual. Probably missed it. 3. I get switched to APPROACH and DEPARTURE frequencies often, even though I'm neither on approach nor departing my origin. It happens in the middle of a long flight intermittently. Is this normal? Thanks again for a terrific program! Dolph |

1. You can't, unless the airline name has been recorded. We have over 1,000 so there will be many that are not. Consequently we would then use the airline identifier or the first three characters of the name. 2. Hopefully a RW pilot will be along soon to tell you exactly what you should be doing ![]() 3. Never heard of that before. Next time it occurs please send me the debug monitor log file from the pfe\logs folder Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S |
