Post subject:  Cannot get Remote Text to work from Client PC
My anti-virus decided that a PFE file was a virus and screwed it up. I excluded the file from the scan, but still had to uninstall and reinstall PFE. Everything is working as intended, but I cannot get the Remote text to work on the client PC. It just keeps attempting to connect to PFE. I deleted the RemoteText.ini file and got the "enter server PC Name or IP address" on the initial click of the Remote.exe. I entered the PC name. It took it, but still did not connect to the server which runs FSX and PFE. I have ran this for years fine, but now I am doing something wrong. I have the RemoteText.ini in the PFE folder deleted on both computers. D:Aerosoft/PFE/PFE_displayer is the path on the server. C:/Documents and Settings/Lynn Fisher/Desktop/PFE_Displayer on the client. After the 1st time of deleting the RemoteText.ini it gave me the "enter server PC Name or IP address" , now it does not ask for the PC name etc.. I have PFE_runtime. exe on the client computer. When I try to run it, it says to enter the 2nd disc and resume. Their is no second disc. It then says the the installation did not finish. This is the .ini file when it is filled out.

Hi Lynn,

in your PF_Emulator.ini file do you have those entries ?

RTActive=1
SocketPort=1008

That fixed it. I had RTActive=0. I changed it to 1 and it works like a charm.
