Ok this maybe an easy question and I am maybe missing something, but how do I set up a VFR local flight like out of swansea local flight then back into swansea?

Regards

John

Can't say I've ever tried having the departure and destination airports the same... neither have I tried VFR ;-) However, provided you have at least one waypoint in the flight plan I can't see as there should be a problem.

Be sure to let us know how you get on though

I can't get it to compile the flight plan even with a Waypoint inserted it just says that is is computing the altitude but then just ends and and does not compile.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the waypoints have to be a certain distance away from one another Dave, so I presume this would make flying circuits difficult. PFE works fine for VFR cross country flights as long as there is at least 10 or 15 miles between waypoints/airfields.

I suppose to set the waypoints apart, and then say fly a pleasure flight in VFR in that area and dont use the waypoints, but air traffic control would still be active?

Check the cruise altitude you have set in ProFlight and also the Centre altitude

I have changed the altitudes in both and will not compile still, added airbase St Athens to the flight plan which is within a short distance and the same I have now changed the flight plan from Cardiff to Bristol and it compiled no problem. So I can omly presume it is based on the distance.

Is there any thoughts of including local VFR flights in any future updates of PFE? I personaly probably fly far more VFR local flights than IFR, and I am sure there are many out there that do the same, if there is and anyone knows of a way of working around it I would be more than happy for some advice.

Thank you

John

I'll put it on the list of things to look at
