I am having problems the past few weeks - the Autopilot stops working, sometimes an hour into the flight, sometimes a few minutes after takeoff. If I disconnect AP, AT, FD (everything) I still can't turn the a/c with the joystick - it behaves as if the AP is still engaged. (This is in FS9).

May not be anything to do with FDC but as part of the troubleshooting, could anyone who flies this a/c with FDC say whether they set the Autopilot up as default or third party?

Have you downloaded my profiles for these aircraft,i use them with no probs as you describe and it's set for 3rd party..

You may wish to post this problem on "The unofficial PSS website" at Avsim.

Also have you made any changes to fsuipc by any chance(just guessing here)

Yes, I did Dave - have adapted them, but they are basically what I downloaded. Will try going back to 3rd. party.

... my initial hunch that this was somehow caused by settings in FDC was probably incorrect (as Dave M said) - and what I found in the last day or two is that turning avionics off and back on re-enables the autopilot. I cannot work out what is going on, but I have added a small avionics on/off gauge to the cockpit so that I can at least correct this when it occurs (as it seems to most flights now - up to 2 weeks back I never had this issue in all the years I've had the PSS ABs. Deeply odd....).
