Post subject:  Rome - same frequencies ATIS + Ground / and CP prompt..?

how can i change one of the frequencies - both are 121.85 ?

The VCP (Mode1) approves everytime the cleared runway for landing automatically - but i would have landing at pilots descrection and won´t hear the full acknowledge phrases of the VCP if i decided to do not follow the vectors they bringing me 180 degrees backward to origin direction.

please help, thank´s.

Well you could use my pf2000 database editor which is silk available from flightsim.com but since pfe uses the frequencies from fs, if they exist, that may not help. Alternatively just configure atis to play thee one loop only, then contact ground

Hi Dave,
the fsx-frequencies for rome you can see in the ATC-Window are: ground 121.90 + ATIS 121.85.
They are also shown as the same in the EFB-Electronic Flight from AivlaSoft.
i can not unterstand ho you tell the PFE is using the same frequencies as FSX!?

By the way your PFE seems to have many bugs. I can say this authentic after making i´m sure more than 300 flights in the past 4 month.
A correctly coordinated flight with ATC-guidance by PFE is not possible!
Examples:
Climbing to the first cleared altitude you have to wait endless time for obtaining the next stepclimb altitude. ( i set the average climb rate for the 747 to 4000 feet).
Descent instructions either to early/to late or not at all. (no descent instructions if you request another flightleve as filed)
The vectoring to the approach is a very total catastroph - if you fly the 747 from PMDG or another fast airplane you can experience a turn around cross over the country until you get annoying and hit the "1" key for final to pilots descretion.

My dear Dave - if you take your PFE seriously you have to make several updates and product improvements!

Ater all 2 positive properties:
The traffic-alert is pretty nice but in the most cases too late.
The Taxi Guidance System works absolutely perfect - and that´s the only reason i use PFE and not RADAR CONTACT!

Wish you a good change to 2011

Hi Walter,

I'm going to chip in on this one as you haven't had a response, but remember this is a personal reply and not an official one.

I think you will find that PFE will do all that you want, but you have to plan your flight carefully. Everything seems to be in the manuals but for me it took a lot of studying and maybe this is harder for you as English is probably not your native language.

I don't think anyone will dispute the planning, converting, compiling, loading procedure is cumbersome - mainly because it uses an archaic FS2000 piece of software which Dave does not have the power to modify or update. After you have loaded the plan you have the opportunity to check waypoints and adjust the altitudes at them. Don't skip this option - I think this is where you will find the cause of your leisurely climbs and descents - its a product of that piece of elderly software.

My solution to this issue is to place a waypoint in my Flight Plan at the "end of climb" point and another at the "start of descent" - this is certainly mentioned somewhere in the manuals in relation to descent but I do both. When looking at the above-mentioned options these are invariably generated at lower altitudes than cruise level. Change them to cruise altitude and I think your problems on that front will be solved.

Hoping this helps.

John
