Ok, so I am currently having problems installing FDC Live Cockpit. I have an
older version so I understand that I will need to update to 3.14. The problem is
that I had to uninstall then re-install FDC Live Cockpit because I didn't make
backups of my default sound files. So, I tried to re-install and got this
message, Feature Transfer Error; Component: FDC, File: D:\setup\data2.cab,
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Basically, I think a file is
already on my system and FDC will not continue to install until that file has
been deleted. It stops at Wav File 103 Voice 5. I tried using Ccleaner to
delete left-over files but it didn't work. I tried searching for the data2.cab
file to see if another one existed and I did find two files that were related to
my drivers (sound and video). I didn't delete these because I didn't know if it
would have an effect or damage the system.

I have Version 3.7 which I know, is really out-dated. Once I get it to install
then I can update to Version 3.14

Probably the cd but I have no way if knowing. If you find the file on your hd just delete it.

So, you are saying I should buy it all over again? I will delete those two data2.cab files and see what happens.

Update: After doing some research, I found out it could be a bad data2.cab file, a bad memory error problem, a DVD read problem, or a CD problem. My CD is always in good shape and I never damage any CD's/DVD's I receive. It can't be a bad memory problem or CD read/write problem since my computer is brand new and is a top of the line pc.

Update: Well, I found out that it is more of a damaged CD problem than it is with hard drive read problems. I will try transferring the contents of the CD to my hard drive and then install from their. Now, if I try to install another add-on game and it works perfectly fine, then that means its the CD. If I copy the contents from the CD and it doesn't work, then I can see if my hard drive is the problem. Deleting the two data2.cab files will not do any good as stated from other users who have this problem on other forums.

I tried transferring it to my hard drive but had the same problem.

Update: Its a disk problem, I transferred the data2.cab file from the CD to my folder but it didn't work. I got an error message saying the file cannot be read which means its corrupt. The reason I know this is because I just installed another add-on to see if it would work, and it did. It was a CD add-on and installed just fine. This means that its a CD problem. The only problem is I don't know what to do now. Should I buy the disk again, and what if I buy it and it still doesn't work. Then could I get refunded?

I will try installing on a different system.
