Post subject: | Big problem with ATIS, please |
Hello My problem ; The ATIS never give to me the correct Runway, for takeoff or landing. On example this morning. A flight from LFBO to LFML At parking at LFBO, the ATIS give me "Runway 32L in use". When I request Taxi, Ground control give me "Taxi to Runway 32R". After Enroute, LFML ATIS give "Runway 14L in use". Approach Control give approach to Runway 32R (it's the correct runway). It's difficult to set the good parametres in the FMC. What is wrong with ATIS ? Thank you for your help ![]() |

ATIS works correctly.... if ATIS reports a different runway prior to Approach then it is due to wind changes or AI detection |

Thank you for your answer ![]() Maybe, but it's strange because it's always the same thing, at every flight, even opposite runways like in my example 32R and 14L at LFML. Today, in reality at LFML the wind never didn't change and I use ASE as weather engine. More, at the departure airport, between the time where I listen ATIS and the time where I request Taxi, there are only some minutes. But every time, ATIS and GROUND give me a different runway (32L/32R). |

My problem seem to be similar to this one : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=510&hilit=atis 2 or 3 time, I listened the LFML ATIS during my flight. Always it gave to me the runway 14L. On the ASE map, the wind at LFML was 320° (ok for the runway 32). Strange no ? |

Were you using DWC mode in ASE, because that sets the weather globally so that it is the same all over the world, it's done to help prevent wind shifts in FSX. As you approach about 80 miles out from the airport ASE then changes the weather to match what it should be at the destination, maybe this is what you are experiencing. |
