Have you tried all the usual advice as shown in this forum? i.e. 1. Turn of any Anti virus software when downloading the software and when installing. 2. Turn off UAC in Vista and Windows 7 its a pain in the backside and will probably corrupt the install. And another little tip for you, DO NOT install FS9 or FSX to the default install location, instead install it to C:\FS9 or C:\FSX Better still install FS to a second hard drive different to the drive with the OS on it, and no a USB external drive is not suitable as a second hard drive. |

The solutions you are suggesting are not what is the problem...I cannot un-install the program so as to start w/ a clean slate. I had to use a restore point and I think this may have something to do w/ the main issue which is un-installing the program. I nn to know what the error means in context to this program. Thank you for your help... |

I will have to defer to Dave then as I'm not getting involved with things now you have used system restore, I trust Osama Bin Ladin more than I do 'system restore' ![]() |

Forget the uninstall for the moment and simply install into a different location (taking note of Andy's suggestions). You don't have to uuninstall anything to do that. If the new install works you can then simply delete the old PFE folders/sub-folders. |

Do you have a 'LOGS' folder in you main PFE folder. Can you see a file named Startup.log in there? That is the file PFE is attempting to create but it can't, either because the folder is missing or it's a user access issue. Have you tried setting PFE to always run as Admin? |

Dave here are the issues which still confront me.....all else works except..voices etc a. After chosing a flight from the list under 'Select a FS Flight Plan from this list then select convert or adjust" and clicking the ProFlight 2000 the flight goes thru the compile process however when viewing the plan all waypoints are missing, only dep and arr are present. b. After the compile process there are no flights to load Any ideas as to what may be the culprit(s) other then ME Vincent ![]() |

1. Have you turned off UAC? 2. Is your flight plan valid, meaning are all waypoints at least 10 miles apart and are there a minimum of 4 waypoints. 3. Have you set the source and destination folders for the plans as outlined in the manuals. 4. Most importantly of all did you disable Resident Shield if your anti virus system is by AVG when you reinstalled. |
