Post subject: | PFE INSTALLATION PROBLEMS |
I am having problems reinstalling PFE from disc to new computer with Win 7 64 bit operating system. I loaded program which initially operated as old version 8.-- but would not update, have since loaded Accumalative Installer and everything now works at version 2.14 but called for PFE XPACK2 Voice enhancement which I then downloaded and installed but it will not recognise !!! I have followed suggestions from forum vis 'How to rectify a suspected bad installation' and 'Having problems installing the voice pack' with no success . While doing this I could not find the file Xinstall3.exe in the PFE folder and therefore could not double-click and wait 30 seconds as asked for - could this be the problem ?. I also have found an errror message when activating the application file PFE/FS2000/FS2000 in the main folder - "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86[32-bit] or x64 [bit] version of the program, and then contact the software publisher". I only did this in a frustrated attempt to find a solution is this significant?. I feel this great programme has become very fragmented. Is it possible to buy a clean uptodate, all voices included, version that installs without the need for modification ? I would be prepared to repurchase such a version if it is possible. Please can you help RobertB . |

Dave thanks for response. Now Working well - great voice calls but no radio connections. Frequency changes do not register on com receiver neither do altitude calls. Auto pilot does not respond with changes in altitude or heading directions when in CP mode 3. Because of this TGS heading bug does not respond but TGS display is operative. I have FSUIPC4 installed and have tried with virus protection and User Account Control switched off. I am not operating any other software addons and am using default aircraft to test on. Sorry to trouble you but I can find no help in forums . Have you any suggestions RobertB |

Hi Dave, I have tried default C172, beech-baron 58, and bombardier CRJ 700 all with same result. Just to recap, everything throughout a flight seems to work for both VFR and IFR including vectoring to final destination. TGS display gauge works as does the PFE display ie when Com frequencies are changed either by the virtual copilot or manually by myself the appropriate available Command options show on the display. The problem remains that the instrument panel including autopilot seems to be disconnected from the virtual copilot and does not register frequency or altitude change instructions made by the VCP as well as not giving TGS heading indications or flying the plane when in VCP Mode 3. However the autopilot and instruments work when operated manually. Any suggestions ? RobertB |

Try turning off UAC and make sure you have the latest version of FSUIPC installed too. http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=74352 |
