When I start a flight FDC/PFE/FSX sounds are all ok, but gradually PFE volume will drop until it is barely audible. All volume sliders checked and reinstalled the sound drivers for the sound card. I don't understand why is it just PFE. Any help will be appreciated.

Never heard of that one before and there's no reason why it should happen... not to just the one program.

After upgrading my system to an I7 core I have occasionally the same effect, mostly when I paused FSX. I found out that the audio mixer has sometimes a life of its own and reduces the sound level of PFE. If it happens again, switch FSX to window mode, open the mixer and adjust the PFE sound level.

Kind regards
Wolfgang

Thank's Wolfgang. Yes I too only have experienced this problem after getting a new computer with I7-920 Windows7 HP 64 bit. My last "flight" with FSX/PFE/FDC, resulted in FDC fading out, PFE was loud and clear! I have tried adjusting PFE/FDC volumes in windows mode with negative results.

OK, got it, guess I will have to use window mode permanently, in order to keep adjusting the volumes. Will post here if I find a fix.

Toriu, how about posting your fix for windows 7 here too, so other people finding this thread via search know the answer too.

If like me your having problems keeping the PFE/FDC sound volumes stable with FSX Windows 7, try this. It worked for me. Open Control Panel/Sound/Communications, Choose the "Do Nothing" option then Apply. I guess it's reading the ATC as a phone transmission.
