Hi,

I bought FDC a long while ago and doing a reinstall.
I have only the full installer of version 3.0 (AO_FDC_300.zip, dated 09-2005)
When I run the setup.exe in Windows7 I get an error message:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item"

The Win7 user is administrator and even 'run as administrator' doesn't do the job.
(Also UAC is off)
I suspect it is caused by the 'old' setup.exe, somehow not compatible anymore with Windows7

Can I download somewhere an updated full installer?

I get this error already when starting setup. It never makes it to the main setup screen.
The setup.exe is run from C:\TEMP

Is the setup checking directories during initialization?

P.S. Also tried to run it from other directories, no luck

I have no idea what the setup is doing as I didn't write it... that was Aerosoft... all I can say is I have it installed here on Vista and Win 7 and the installer I have is very old too

You need to contact whoever you purchased it from but there's no reason why your version will not install and then use the accumulative update installer

Oki, that doesn't bring me any further because I already did and they advised me to contact the developer since it is technical related...

Apparently there is because it won't install.

Well if you would like to tell me who it was who told you to contact the developer I will put them straight on a couple of points.... the main one being that Aerosoft wrote the installer so I have no way of knowing what the code is looking/checking for.

I bought it at Simmarket and filed a ticket. Below is the response.
Currently I'm wading through the internet finding a solution, it seems more people had a simular issue with setup files and such
(not neccesarily this particular one)

----------------------
Your Trouble Ticket has been updated with:

Dear Valued Customer,
thank you for your order and we are sorry you are having an issue with any of the items ordered.
simMarket is only the commercial platform where the product is sold, however your problem seems to be specifically product related and/or of technical nature
Please contact the support addresses listed in the documentation for the respective product.
The support addresses are also listed in the respective product description pages in our shop.
Best regards.
The simMarket Team
