Post subject: | Cleared for final approach |
Hello. I am new to the program and I have tried a couple of flights and one thing seems to be strange to me. I flew from EIDW to EGPF. Everything was good until I got to the end of the STAR (BLAC1G). I got cleared to final for runway 23, but did not get vectors or a transition. So am I supposed to just figure that out on my own? I did end up doing a Direct To from the FMS to a final approach fix, then, unfortunately, MSFS froze on me. But my previous flight the same happened. Cleared for final approach for an ILS, but no vectors or transition. Again, did a Direct To and everything worked fine. I did use a hotkey command to request vectors both times and got "unable". Thanks! |

If you want to be vectored from your last flight-plan waypoint to final for the active runway, you should UNCHECK the STARs box at the bottom of the SIDs/STARs page before the flight. PF3 will begin vectoring you when you reach your last waypoint. For best results the last waypoint should be 20-50 miles from the destination airport. If you have the STARs box checked when you connect PF3 to the sim, you will not get vectors after the last waypoint, and will be cleared to perform the approach at pilot's discretion. This is used when you don't want vectors because you are going to fly an approach procedure and you know how you want to fly it. You need to fly to the final approach course for the assigned runway on your own. If you are unsure if you will want vectors, leave the STARs box unchecked. When PF3 begins vectoring you for the approach you can hit Hotkey 1 to request clearance to complete the approach on your own. See also Section 20.5 in the User Guide (in the PF3\Help folder). |
