Post subject:  Help needed with checklists

Hi Dave,

I've been using FDC Live Cockpit a lot since I got back into MSFS, mainly as a way for my PNF to read me some basic checklist items for me to perform as the PF.

Some of the items are identified by FDC as Interactive and the response is that the PNF reads back the Actual Setting. Now, I don't want to use Interactive items, I just want my PNF to tell me what to set. For example, for "Flaps" call, I want the response to be "Full", telling me to set full flaps.

I have disabled "Interactive checklists ...." under the "Select Aircraft" menu (see attached screen grab), but my PNF still responds with the Actual Setting. My workaround has been to set the response as "None" .

Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed a setting somewhere? Logs attached in case they are of use to you.

Any help appreciated.

Bill

That Interactive Checklists option pertains to the delay for the reply. If you don't want to use interactive items in the checklist you need to remove them and use the non-interactive call instead.

Sorry. I didn't explain fully.
Even if I select a Non-Interactive response (and get the warning message), my PNF still responds with the Actual Setting. That's why my workaround is to select "None" as the response. See attached screengrab and logs.

Don't think there's any other workaround unfortunately. Checklists weren't designed to do what you're suggesting... when reading the checklist for flaps you want to know what they are currently set at to ensure they're correct. I believe what you're asking is can they be used to tell you what the setting 'should' be.

When I previously used FDC with FSX, I'm pretty sure it worked my way so it could just be a limitation with MSFS and/or FSUIPC. Maybe someone else that uses the checklists my way might chime in. Thanks anyway.

Cheers
