So, it seems manually requesting Cleared to Finals might only work either after the start of STAR or after receiving Vectors. I had expected it to work at any point in the flight if tuned to Control, Radar or Approach. Again, have I found a bug?
I only request Cleared to Finals after reaching the last waypoint. It may not work before then. The message you received about the command only being available in landing mode would support this, because PF3 enters landing mode at the last waypoint. I don't think this is a bug, but Dave can let us know if it is working as intended. |
