Post subject: | PFE Issues |
Hi, I finally got around to reinstalling PFE on my new computer. I am having similar issues to those that I had before upgrading. I am flying right now to Acapulco and thought it would be nice to use PFE because it gives controllers a local accent and that is pretty cool. So upon leaving Albuquerque, I am having these issues: 1. Controller told me to line up on RWY26, which is the opposite end of the RWY from the AI. So I pressed time acceleration 8x until the AI disappeared, then back to 1x so I can get airborne without a head-on crash. 2. Upon reaching the assigned altitude of FL370, I am being told continuously to climb and maintain FL330. Hello? I have already been instructed to go to FL370. My voice says back to the controller "Roger, out of FL370 for FL370" so that's a little strange. 3. The sound level is good most of the times but sometimes the other chatter is at a very low level then it pops back up to normal. Back and forth, low volume then high volume then low again and so on. System - Dell XPS9000 with i7 975 Extreme, 8GB DDR3, nVidia GTX 260 with 1792 DDR3 VRAM. FSX installed, all patches installed to SP2, ASE, myTraffic X and PFE running. I also fly a lot using RC4 but when I fly to foreign countries, I like the local accents thus I would like to get the bugs out of PFE. Please advise. |

If you don't have any winds then the AI will use the wrong runway. It's always best to have at least i knot of wind but if you prefer not then you can always request another runway to match the AI. This would only occur if (when you were initially assigned a runway) there were no AI landing on, taking off from or about to take off from a runway.... if they were then PFE would have used the same runway. As you say, a little strange and I would like to see the debug_monitor.log file for that flight please. You'll find it in the PFE\Logs folder. If you have run another PFE flight since then it will be named Old_Debug_Monitor.log. If you've at least two more PFE flights since this problem occurred then a;; the eveidence will unfortunately be gone, so please see if you can recreate it and then send me a log. That's an (optional) 'realism' feature. You have read the latest version readme and the latest user guide, haven't you? |

Hi Dave, 1. I can try that, thanks. 2. I will do that. On it's way. 3. I didn't catch that part - sorry. Here I was thinking this Soundblaster card was hosed somehow. Thanks, Dolph |
