Hello Dave,
I know that the PF3 displayer is one of your team's creators so please direct this to the appropriate person.

With PFE open and FS2020 running PF3 displayer will not connect and show frequencies (red lights). Apparently, it does not find the "ini" file and looks for a default, then tries to connect several times finally gives up. I downloaded the latest version but now it will not even show at all.

The template file attached is not complete.

[PF3WebDisplay]
PF3Port=
PF3Host=
WebPort=
DispDat=N
ATCRadio=COM1
RemoteText=7009
BGColor=DimGray
HTMLColor=yellow
FontSize=200%
ATCColor=Crimson

I believe the PF3 Port should be 1010, and the WebPort 7339, but what is the PF3 Host value?
Can you please help me out with those values and provide any other details as to why it fails to connect. Thank you,
pck42

Hi,

I think there may be a bit of confusion here - the title of this post, and the symptoms you are describing, relate to PF3 Displayer.
The .ini file that you have posted is for PF3 Web Display, which is a completely different thing, and which you have selected to autostart.
I suspect that the problem that you are experiencing comes from trying to start PF3 Displayer when Web Display has already been started.
You can only run either PF3 Displayer or Web Display, not both at the same time - they use the same interface into PF3.

If you wish to use Web Display, then please edit the .ini file that you have and replace the 7009 with 1009 - that is the default and the correct value for your set-up (you have copied the sample .ini file as-is; it is intended as an example of the types of things you can configure, all documented in the accompanying PDF manual).

If you don't wish to use Web Display, then please go into PF3 Options#2, Advanced and deselect the 'Auto Run WEB Display' option - you can then use PF3 Displayer.

Hope this helps,
Martin
(PF3 Web Display developer)

Hi Martin,
Thank you for your amazingly quick response. Yes, I was confused but have unchecked the PF3 Web Display box. However, I am still unable to access the PF3 Displayer. The attached file (New Folder Zip) contains the files currently in my PF3 Display folder. Am I missing any?

Also attached is the pf3_display.ini file for your review. Your help is really appreciated.

So if you're problem is with PF3 Display why are you showing me the contents of the Web Display folder?

What message does it display... a screen shot would be nice.

Also, are you running PF3 from the default folder?

Hi Dave,
The folder I sent is "PF3_Displayer".Seemed logical to me.
There is no message, no longer any communication with the displayer. No screen pops up and no icon on my taskbar to start the displayer.
Yes I'm running from the default folder.
Do you want a screen shot of all the PF3 folder contents or a zip file of a specific file within it?

No, that's okay. But if the folder you showed me is the PF3_Displayer folder then you have a problem because there#s no PF3_Display.exe or pfs_disp.dat. So how on earth are you running it?

Yep! neither of those files exist. Actually, at this point I'm not able to run it and TGS is giving me problems too. I'm just going to do a reinstall of PF3 rather then waste more of our time. No problem as a i have a fast pc: unfortunately, I won't get the latest updates. Thanks

Nah! Somehow, I had removed all the PF3 displayer file leaving only the Web Display files in the folder. Ya can't fix stupid.
