Hi,
Recently, I've had to do a complete reinstall of P3D V5.4, and all my addons. Formerly, on climbing out, on the runway heading, I received vectors, guiding me round to close with my GPS course, ending with a Resume Own Navigation call.

Now I have only a preselected runway heading, after which I am left to fly wherever I wish. I'm assuming the former situation was the work of PF3. If so, I would be very grateful if I could resume that excellent situation.

Regards, Jim

Please see the RED message at the top of this forum. We have no idea what might have gone wrong without the log file.

Well, you're using a VERY old version of PF3... almost 3 years old... version 3.10.1.

Please download and install the latest cumulative updates package from this forum and then try again.

In addition to updating to the latest version as Dave mentioned, make sure that the SIDs box at the bottom of the SIDs/STARs page is unchecked. If you have this box checked, or you have set a DP on the waypoint page, you will not get vectors after takeoff, as you are telling PF3 that you want to fly a departure procedure rather than a vectored departure.

Hi.
Thanks for your help. I didn't realise that amid all the installing I did, that in fact the version of PF3 I was using was part of a "Restore" from early in the year. In order to offload the installation from my C drive, I uninstalled , then installed and updated PF3 anew elsewhere.
That installation needed activation. The activation told me that I was not connected to the internet and now I needed to do offline activation. I followed the instructions fully, using of course the same PC which Activation didn't like. So now the process has ended with too many activations on this computer.

I apologise for this long and sorry tale. Could you please tell me how to proceed from here?

Regard, Jim

Email Dave direct with your activation code (don't post it here) and he will reset it:

Hi,
Thank you very much for your help and patience. I am now receiving vectors to the GPS course as before.

I am not seeing nor hearing any taxi guidance. I believe I have ticked all the boxes in Options. In the hope that it is ok ask about that here, I'm going to attach the log file.

Regards, Jim

Your TGS.EXE file is missing from your main PF3 folder. You would have received a message about it when you first ran PF3. It's undoubtedly your anti-virus that has quarantined the file due to a false positive. So you should be able to retrieve the file from there or just rerun the cumulative updates installer. Also please ensure you configure your AV NOT to scan the PF3 files, otherwise you'll have the same issue again

Hi Dave,
Thank you. I've done as you suggested, and allowed tgs.exe through the firewall. I'll test on my next flight.

Regards, Jim
