I recently completed a VFR flight from YBTH to YSNW (or YSHL, cannot remember). At no stage did I reveived a call stating what the arrival runway was so I decided to land on rwy 26. However when I announced downwind (without knowing what runway) it promptly said roger, downwind runway 36 (or words to that effect. I beleive the arrival is an untowered airport.

Don't know if I did anything wrong, so my question is how do I determine what runway PF3 is going to assign me before calling downwind?

Many thanks
John

It all looks fine to me. You were landing at an uncontrolled airport so you wouldn't be advises as to which runway to use.
