Rob, not wishing to detract from Martin's excellent, extremely helpful and informative posts, all I would like to add is if you are a new user to PF3 I would recommend taking things one step at a time. You mentioned you are using MCE which again, using alongside PF3 can take some time to get used. So if my assumption is correct try a simple flight first, without MCE and using VCP mode 3 in PF3. This way you will get a clear understanding of how PF3 works and what is expected of you and your VCP

Hello there,

One more question: Do you use VR software?
And what VCP? 0,1,2 or 3?

Cheers,

Rob.

Thanks, Dave,

I will do that while I recreate Martins flight.

Cheers,

Rob.

And I would also recommend having a look at Section 20.5 in the User Guide (located in your PF3\Help folder). It has helpful information about flight planning and SID/STAR use in PF3.

Hello there,

I did the flight. In the beginning it didn't go very well. i was stuck at 5000 ft for a long time. It didn't obey the boundaries set by pf3. But when i requested a higher altitude it started to work. I was stepped up nicely to fl200. I didn't reach the cruise altitude of fl250. Maybe you can explain me why. The approach went smooth and the landing as well.
I will post de log, so you might can give me some pointers.
Thanks in advance, Martin and Dave.

Hi Rob,

We did discover and fix a slight problem that can occur when adjusting the flight plan altitudes which could then cause the flight to hang below the cruise altitude. Please try the latest beta version which you can get from the top of this forum

Hello Dave,

Thank you for your quick response.
I will install the beta.
Do I have to activate it again?

Cheers,

Rob.

No

You don't have to uninstall anything, just copy the zipped pf3.exe into your main PF3 folder after making a copy of your current version. Instructions are in the post too ;-)
