Post subject:  PF3 ATC weird communication during flight
Dear reader,

I don't understand PF3 anymore. I have followed all the tips and tricks.
I loaded the flightplan into PF3. I made sure my last waypoint was 31 miles from LEMD. Everything goes fine after the start. I am vectored to my first waypoint and to an inItial altitude of 6000. But then it starts. I have to request higher altitudes then fl60 though my cruise altutude is FL 250. I am denied higher altitudes so i am stuck at FL60. Then i am finally granted a higher altitude. Then when i am at TOD nothing happens, so i have to request a lower altitude. But then i have to go back to a higher altitude, although i am only about 40 miles from LEMD. Then i am vectored to runway 36R, but i am much too high at that moment.
What am i doing wrong??
Please help me!!

Oh dear... well, in a nutshell you went somewhat of track and PF3 had to keep bumping the flight plan waypoints to keep track... so that's why everything went to pot unfortunately

Hello Dave,

I only followed the instructions from ATC. Could you maybe tell me why it kept me at fl 60 for so long?
And how can i make sure it doesn’t happen again? Because i want to enjoy PF3 and that isn’t happening now.

Just follow the flight plan... that's what PF3 expects. Why did you go off course?

Hello Dave,

I was following the flightplan. Then it told me to follow a heading. Then I stopped because i was too high.
But why did it keep me at fl60 for so long?

Can you show me a transcript? Maybe it makes sense then to me.

When you reached the 3rd waypoint (NONTU) at approximately 11:29 you turned left to a heading of 158 degrees. ATC did not tell you to do that. Also they didn't keep you at 6000', you were told to climb to FL70 two minutes after contacting Departure... seven minutes later you were cleared to FL150 and after a further seven minutes you were cleared to FL200. But you were now going off track and subsequently the flight went wrong.

Why didn't you follow the flight plan, which is what you're meant to do? ATC will not guide you the entire way, you're expected to follow the plan, just like in the real world.

I really can't spend time going through logs when you clearly didn't do what you were supposed to do.

I am sorry if I did anything wrong! I will do another flight. I will fly the plan and not make any requests for altitude changes. Let’s see what happens. I do hope it will work well.
