Post subject:  Manual Editing of an XMl file?

Hi,
I've installed FDC from each of two installers I have on file, each for v383. Each has resulted in a message about manually editing a file somehow connected to FSUIPC. I'm on P3D v5.4, and have FSUIPC v6 installed and working properly.
The installer has stopped at that point leaving the destination (D:\Aerosoft) blank. Can someone please help me past this stumbling block?

Regards, Jim H.

Hi Dave,

Well that's clearly an FSUIPC message. Have you done what it suggests? If you have and it didn't work it's really a question for FSUIPC support

Hi Dave,
I've searched everywhere, within the fsuipc folder, and within the fsuipc documetation, but no dll.xml, nor any reference to it. That error message is simply too cryptic to get me anywhere. At the moment then, the FDC installer is useless for me, which is very puzzling, since I have installed FDC before now.

I really would prefer to have a working installer for FDC, but for now I'm ok. Fortunately, I have a backup of both my C and D drives, and therein lies an FDC folder. In desperation I copied that folder to a current Aerosoft folder and to my relief FDC now works perfectly!

Hi Jim,

Were you running the installer as 'Admin'? A quick search on the web suggests that this is a file permission issue.

Martin

Hi Dave,
No, I had not run the installer as admin, but I have just done so with the same error message appearing.
