Post subject:  Question wanting to create a gauge

Hi,

I would create a XML gauge able to send the commands to PFE through the mouse click on it instead to use the keyboard.

I tried to use the FS2004 native ATC variables (ATC_MENUX) but nothing happens with them, so I think I need to know the name of the variables (like the standard ATC_MENUX) used by PFE in FS and possibly also the ones defining the different PFE situations (i.e. clearance, ground, emerg, etc.) to be able to have the gauge dinamically showing only the active functions in a specific moment of the flight.

Is it possible to have these info? I think that the gauge could be interesting for several PFE users and I could share it.

Thanks and best regards

Speedy Joe

Joe,

PFE utilises the hotkey feature provided by FSUIPC. So, when you hit one of the PFE hotkeys on your keyboard it's filtered from going to FS by FSUIPC and then a flag is set at the relevant offset... which PFE subsequently detects and acts upon. However, these 'offsets' can change depending on how many other programs are also using these hotkey slots and which programs started before PFE abd claimed 'there' offsets. Although there's a maximum of 56 hotkey slots available you cannot tell which one belongs to which application

Hi dave,

thanks for the answer.

Too bad !!!!

I will try anyway to do something through a VB module sending the keys to FS (also via FSUIPC) to see the effect.

Cheers

Joe
