Seems every other time I start my flight simulator I have a brand new issue to troubleshoot! (Not often PF3, I hasten to add ). Today however (having flown with PF3, as ever, just fine yesterday), I found that although initially PF3 responded as normal, when I tried to request pushback, there was no response. I have things enabled so that there's a little sound audible when PF3 receives a command - and that was present every time. But no reply.

In the end I restarted the PC and tried again. But the same thing. I flew the flight anyway, occasionally swapping frequencies on the COM1 radio to stop PF3 telling me to 'maintain flight level 190'. In the end PF3 came right, but only near to the destination.

Can anyone see why I had this problem. My initial thought was that something (wasn't me!) must have reset some of the PF3 hotkeys, but having checked that, they seem to be the same as ever. (They are not the default ones, as those clash with keyboard shortcuts already in use in the sim; but the ones in the pf3.ini have worked for years without problem).

I attach the logs for both the flights I did, aborted and complete.

Well I can certainly tell you why things went wrong initially in this flight... the clue is in your reply below

You were never told to contact Ground as there is no such facility at LGTS and the frequency was that of Clearance. Had you contacted Tower on 118.1 it should have been okay.

So, all I need to do is find out why it went wrong. In the interim just be on the lookout for such situations and contact the correct frequency

Ah yes 'Contact Ground' as a reply should have given me a warning: I'd forgotten that there is no ground frequency at that airport.

Yes, PF3 should have been asking me to contact tower, but I'll try to remember that this may happen if there's no ground frequency (though I don't recall it occurring in the past).

I run frequently into a "silent" state due to an airport not having Ground. It seems like an easy decision for PF3 to determine if an airport has a ground frequency. If not, it should tell the pilot to contact tower. In VC mode 2 it's even more obvious that ATC should have that "intelligence".

You're quite correct Tony. It's not a design feature the way it's working currently... it's a bug!

There is also a message that appears on the screen to indicate the frequency you're on is incorrect and even shows the correct one (for Tower) in this case. However, I believe the OP uses VR so probably doesn't see it.

I have the same problem. I am at Dublin airport, tuned to clearance frequency which was given by PF3, when I request clearance using my hotkey in VCP1 mode, nothing happens. My ATIS frequency is working well and I can hear ai communication.

There is no indication in your log file that you used any hotkeys... so something else is amiss here. Have you got conflicting hotkeys in MSFS perhaps?
