Hello,
I am using SceneryConfig Editor v1.1.9 to limit my payware scenery so that I can limit the OOM errors I receive. When I add or delete a scenery through this program to load or not load, do i have to rebuild the PF3 database? Thanks

I don't know for sure how that program works, but my guess would be yes, rebuild the PF3 database... it certainly won't do any harm

I also only activate the sceneries I will use for the flight. But for the database rebuild, which I only do after adding add-ons, I activate (almost) all sceneries and use that database for all flights, regardless of which add-ons are active. No problems so far.

Yes that sounds like a sensible approach.

Bonjour,

I allow myself since this post is created to ask a question concerning this question.

1) I am with demo 3: Do I have to do this database analysis?

2) I'm using FS20 , I read the manual on this Database rebuild section, but I admit I don't understand precisely if I should install MakeRws , because the manual is very vague on this. Page 40 is written:

-MakeRwys.exe program into your main FS folder, except for MSFS users, then run it.

Then page 42:[/u]
- rebuilding the PF3 database try deleting the following files from your main FS folder first, or the folder you chose to run MakeRwys for MSFS, then rerun Makerwys and retry the rebuild .

I confess that I no longer understand anything about this subject, which is very important. Please explain clearly how to do it for FS20.
Thank you very much.

For MSFS you can run MakeRwys from any folder, unlike for previous FS versions where it had to be run from the main FS folder

merci .
I downloaded MakeRwys.exe v 5.13 and launched the file which took about 15' to retrieve the list of tracks and scenery.

But I don't know how to make PF3 recover these files, because they are not in PF3 nor in Fs20 but in a folder on my desktop, it doesn't seem logical to me, for PF3. And since the manual does not talk about MakeRws and how to install in PF3 I have to ask the question.

You should be able to select the folder under 'Desktop' from the directory list when you start the rebuild process in PF3, and it will find the runways.csv file.

Cheers,
Martin

Just purchased PF3 and looking forward to all its capabilities, following all instructions to get started. Installed PF3 and is validated. Getting stuck on the database rebuild process for FSX and MSFS. Executed the MakeRwys file and runway .CSV files have been created in the appropriate folders. When I click on the re-build PF3 button the application crashes before I am able to select the directory with the RWY file. No log file is generated.

#2 The same happens with the flight plan import. I select the flight plan button on the application but the app crashes before I am able to select the directory with the flight plan. ?? THX Rob

Try turning off PF3 skins as some users are unable to use them.

Options #2 / Advanced options, then under Misc select 'Don't use skins'

Please let us know how you get on
