Post subject: | Continued investigation of "sound corruption" |
Hi Dave - I've been slowly trying to eliminate possible sources of my sound corruption issue when using PF3 and Self Loading Cargo (SLC). It's only related to the taxi guidance from PF3 - when the voice should be heard I get a screaming static noise. For reference here is the post with the my initial report: viewtopic.php?t=4007 I've also noticed lately (like since maybe the last MSFS update) that TGS.exe will not auto-close after exiting PF3 - I have to force close it...doesn't matter how long it sits the CPU utilization stays up there and I can see it running in the background with Task Manager. Today after my flight I was trying to ensure all the sound devices were set correctly (everything going to the speakers vs the default audio device) and the mixer wouldn't open. But when I exited everything and force closed TGS.exe the mixer popped right up like it had been cued to open but was being blocked. I'm wondering if for some reason my TGS.exe isn't working correctly. I've even given it "admin rights" to see if that fixed it's issues with not shutting down but it didn't change anything. Has anyone else reported anything similar? Should I try to reinstall PF3? As always - you still have the best product out there and even without taxi guidance I'm still all in on it! Cheers, mike |

This all sounds (excuse the pun) very strange indeed. I think I'll have to get a copy of SLC to see if I can recreate the issue. As for TGS.exe not closing when when you exit PF3, it shouldn't be running at all. It only runs when you get taxi instructions and should close when you reach the runway/terminal. |

I reached out to the SC developer on 26/8 but as yet have not heard back. |
