Post subject: | can't manage the descent |
Hello I'm looking for some tips and tricks, PF3 does not follow the altitude I have written in the flight plan. Which means that TOD starts too late. Do not know what I'm doing wrong. Think i have posted the right Log. Have a nice day. |

First of all it looks like you have included the STAR in your flight plan flying into LIRF, which is not recommended. It's best to have your last waypoint 25-40 miles from the destination airport, since when you are close to the airport you are either being vectored or flying a procedure at pilot's discretion. See Section 20.5 in the User Guide for more info on including SIDs/STARs in flight plans. Depending on the situation you can either leave the STAR out entirely, or selectively remove waypoints using PF3's waypoint removal feature on the flight plan page. Regarding the descent issue, for the descent phase of flight PF3 interprets literally the altitudes on the waypoint page. If you change an altitude you should check the altitudes of nearby waypoints and adjust them if needed, as PF3 does not adjust altitudes of nearby waypoints. You adjusted RITEB to 15000 but did not adjust ETPOK or any earlier waypoints. Hover your cursor over the waypoint names on the flight plan page to see the distances to nearby waypoints and adjust the descent profile from cruise if needed.
