Post subject:  Update failed. Reinstall failed.
After failing the update (I'm guessing a stray .dll wasn't unloaded somewhere) I uninstalled and reinstalled.
I re-ran MakeRunways (mentioned nowhere in the documentation) and rebuilt the database (also not mentioned for installation)
I attempt to open a flight plan, and get a message about selecting the proper folder for what sim I'm using, but then after closing that, the program crashes and I'm unable to open any folder.
Included are the logs.

Reattempting to rebuild the database results in a crash.
If I could get my money back for this software, I would.

If you want your money back just email me direct and ask, as I have no wish to take your money if you're not happy. On the other hand if you wish me to help with your problems and get you up and running I'm happy to do so. Your choice

Both mentioned in section 7.1.13 Rebuild PF3 Database Procedure

But not in 4.1: Installation. Where I (wrongly) assumed it would be.

Okay, first thing to try is go to Options #2 , then advanced options and under Misc items select 'Don't use skins' and see if that prevents PF3 from crashing whilst you're trying to set the flight plan path
