Hi, I'm getting an error message with my old install 'Run time error 429' ActiveXcomponent can't create object.

Wether this can be fixed or not, I see there is a new update. Would I be best to remove PF3 3.0.9?
If so where can I download?

Thanks
Mark

I''ve moved your post to the correct forum

Your version of PF3 is very old so yes, I would suggest downloading/installing the latest cumulative updates package and try again. If the problem persists please let us know.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that, I download and installed the latest cumlative package and install correctly with no errors when updating.

However the problem still persists.

The log files you attached are still showing you using an old version (3.9) rather than the latest (3.14)

Hmm okay, I have attached image below of the exe file insite the PF3 and it looks updated.

Is there a way of removing everything and starting again, rather than writing over the top?

Hi Dave,

Are these missing files from my end or is this an install error? Do I need to find these on a Windows installation disc and install them?

Wow! Yes, you are going to have issues with those missing files. The question is, why are they missing? My guess would be it's your anti-virus program probably moving them into quarantine. Check to see if you can find them and restore them. You would also need configure your AV to leave PF3 files alone.

If you can't find the files on your system you will need to do a complete reinstall, starting with the base installer and then adding the latest cumulative updates package from this forum.

Do remember though to configure your AV if it's messing with the PF3 files

Thanks Dave,

I cannot find a install file and it's so long I ago I cannot even remember where I purchased it. I checked Simmarket..not there, so I'm assuming that I purchased directly from you.

How do I aquire another download file of the PF3 program to use once I've uninstalled the bad install?

Thanks re the AV, I'll keep an eye on that and disable it when I reinstall.

Please email me direct re another download.
Regarding your AV it's not just during the install you need to be aware of your AV but thereafter when it does it's regular scans... that's probably when it removes any files it deems a threat. I've had problems myself, everytime I compile a new version of PF3 my AV wants to quarantine it!!
