Morning. Seems lately there has been a problem with the taxi instructions. I receive the instructions, the taxi gauge goes active, the display in the sim shows Taxi monitoring active, and within about 5 secs I start getting "steady, steady, holding point xxxx reached" without moving. All logs attached.

Hi Rick,

How very strange!

Here's the relevant TGS log section...
Quote:
23/01/22 10:04:42:250 - Initialising TP's.... Trig: 150 WP: 2 of 26 Hdg: 15 TP Dir: 15 TP Dist: 177 metres
23/01/22 10:04:42:250 - TGS_Visual: True
23/01/22 10:04:42:260 - Initialising complete!
23/01/22 10:04:51:400 - PF3 is no longer running!
23/01/22 10:04:51:400 - FS Screen : You've reached the holding point! TGS Deactivated!
23/01/22 10:04:51:400 - You've reached the holding point! TGS Deactivated!
23/01/22 10:04:51:410 - Exiting TGS...
As you can see it thought PF3 had stopped!

I will investigate further but TGS will stop if it detects PF3 is no longer alive.

Ya, very strange being PF3 did NOT stop. Of course, I could have seen that if you hadn't started encrypting the blasted logs.

I'm pretty sure why you did start doing that.

Did a little test. Seems that it's aborting the taxi gauge as soon as I activate VCP 2. It's set up as CTL+SHFT+K to cycle through the modes. Does the logs show that on your end?

Ok Dave, just wanted to post a follow-up. The taxi gauge (PF3) abort the taxi instructions and tell me that I've reached the holding point right after it displays "VCP mode" change info. Don't change the VCP mode it doesn't abort, so it's somewhere in there.

Hi Rick,

Excuse me sticking my nose in but is this just happening at small airports or everywhere? I find similar often happens at small airports where the gate is quite near the runway and the route to the runway is only a couple of short legs. I don't find it a problem as I can see where I need to go.

(I'm permanently on VCP mode 2).

John

Sorry John, I didn't see this. For some reason, even though I have notify me of replies turned on, I don't get notified. It happens at all airports. As soon as I switch from VCP mode 1 to VCP mode 2 it immediately says I've reached the holding point. Also, when I land and exit the runway and contact ground for taxi instructions, it immediately aborts saying I've reached the gate. If I DON'T activate VCP mode 2 it does not abort.

Dave? Any information on this particular problem I'm having?

-Rick
