Hi, Two questions on oceanic control: 1- When I load a flight plan from Simbrief like LFPG to CYUL, in PF-3 the oceanic option is not available to see (gray out). So I do I know where oceanic control start's and end's. Can I see where the oceanic control start's end end? 2- I did a flight today from lfpg to cyul and I was still with oceanic control when I was over Moncton, past Gander. What do I need to do to switch from Oceanic to Gander? Should the swicth be automatic your do I have to call Gander? One thing I have to say, his I do not communicate my position with SELCAL when I am crossing the ocean, would this affect PF-3? Pierre |

Have a look at page 89 of the manual. It tells you how to define the start and finish waypoints for oceanic airspace. Cheers ![]() |

Hi, PF3 handles North Atlantic oceanic airspace automatically as described in section 8.4 of the manual - there's no need to define it manually, that's why the option is greyed out. I use LittleNavMap which shows me where the boundaries are between the different airspaces; you can also drag the .json file from the Flight\FPP directory onto http://geojson.io to see the same. I have seen a similar issue to this, delayed handback to domestic control after oceanic sector; have you tried running the oceanic sector in VCP2 (handles all comms)? If you are able to post the debug_monitor.log and the contents of the Flight\FPP directory for this flight as a zip file we should be able to advise you further. Cheers, Martin |

Your PF3 VCP Mode is set to OFF... try an Oceanic with VCP Mode set to at least 2 and see how it's done |

ok i will try that, but are you telling me that it’s because i use MUlticrew experience that the handoff is done late? Pierre ![]() |

Hi, I just completed a crossing from LFPG to CYUL without MCE. The handoff from Shannon Control and Shanwick Oceanic worked perfectly. Then the handoff between Shanwick Oceanic and Gander Radio also worked. But when I reached the Canadian cost, I never got the handoff for the freq 131.60 so I stayed with Gander Radio 132.20. I was deep in Canadian territory (see picture) when I decided to call 131.45, and this to get out of Gander Radio and to contact Gander Center, that did not worked. So I dialed 123.42, Moncton and then received instruction to dial 123.42, which I did. From there the rest of the flight worked find. So I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but it seem that the handoff from Oceanic to domestic control didn't work and I was running PF3 in VCP2 (handles all comms)? Do I have to contact Gender Domestic, or it should be done automaticly? Pierre |

We've been working on these particular issues for some months now so I've attached an interim version of PF3 for you to try, as it's pointless me scanning your logs as the problems may already have been addressed. Please bear in mind if you run with this interim version of PF3 you will not be automatically informed when a new version is officially released. You would therefore need to keep a check on this forum and download/install the latest cumulative updates package to ensure you are up to date. The 'check for updates' process will not work correctly for interim releases. |

Thank you for the reply, I am willing to test this beta version for you, if it would help solving the issue. If not I will stay with the official version, I would imagine that the fix will eventually by part of a update? I know what to do if I am not transferred to Domestic control. In the following handoff, which ones are Radio vs Domestic? CC22=127.50 - Shannon Control (domestic) CC24=127.90 - Shanwick Oceanic (Radio) CC26=132.10 - Gander Center (Radio) CC29=132.20 - Gander Center (domestic) CC31=131.60 - Gander Center (domestic) CC32=131.45 - Gander Center (domestic) CC33=123.42 - Moncton Center One last question: Is reporting my position at each oceanic waypoint makes any different. I would like to know because I usually let the Co-Pilot fly the plane and I let the plane mostly unattended. Thanks Pierre |

No you don't have to make those reports but if you use VCP Mode 2 your co-pilot will make them for you |
