Hi, when updating PF3 from 3.10.30 to 3.10.50 I already received an error regarding RemoteText.exe, but the only way to get out of it seemed the continue/ignore option. Now the validation reports an error, as attached in the logfile. Btw the validation program still asks us to send an E-Mail to PF3@ONCOURSE-SOFTWARE.CO.UK Best regards, Kurt |

Unfortunately the log doesn't tell me anything and looks like it aborted soon after starting. You say you had a validation error regarding RemoteText? When did this occur? What did the message say exactly? Can you recreate and if so perhaps grab a screen shot? |

Sorry, this was my mistake! I had started the verification a 2nd time and aborted it, not having in mind that it will overwrite the log. I did it again and attach the (zipped) result here. |

Strange but nothing to worry about. PLease unzip the atached and drop it into your PF3\PF3_Displayer folder and you're good to go |

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick reaction. However, I have tried >5 times now to download, but I always receive an error like "Insufficient permissions" Cheers, Kurt |

Sorry about that but I've just tried the link here and it works fine so I think the problem must be at your end... maybe your Anti Virus? If you'd like to email me direct I'll send it as an attachment.. it's very small |

Yes, I checked the AntiVirus log and it reports that the file is infected. But I guess it's false alarm. Please send via mail to my registered address, thanks! |

... and received! But it does not help. My AntiVirus (Bitdefender) blocks unpacking the zip, and also saving it into any local folder. Are you sure it is NOT infected? I am downloading many zip archives (e.g. from flightsim.to), and nerver had this problem before. The contents is a .txt file, right? Could you try sending this as attachment? Sorry for the troubles .... |

The contents is not a text file it's a .EXE program file and your AV is reporting a false negative, which is a very common occurrence these days. AV's look for certain footprints in the code and my code, like most, is compiled then scrambled and compressed to make it as small as possible prior to release. This process can produce similar footprints that the AV is looking for thereby producing a false negative. My software is NOT infected and if I were you I would bin that AV and change it for something else. I had to do the same very recently as my AV (which I'd had for years) was constantly complaining about various programs on my system, to the point where it became more than annoying to say the least. Since changing to Kaspersky I haven't had any such issues. End of the day the choice is yours and you do not need RemoteText to use PF3, it's an optional utility |
