I didn't see anything in the user guide covering this so I'll ask it here - when approaching the airport and receiving the initial approach instructions - is there a way to request a different runway/approach? For example - coming into Santa Barbra yesterday I was well setup for a RW07 approach but was told to expect RW28 (winds were marginally better for 28). IRL I'd request vectors for 07 and if the airport isn't busy typically that would be granted with no problem. Is that possible somehow in PF3? I've handled this previously with pilot's discretion to final...but then I'm still not landing on the assigned runway and i never get the switch to tower on final from the copilot (I know I can do that manually...but ya made me lazy with CP mode 2). Cheers, mike |

You can request a different runway for departure or arrival once an initial runway assignment has been made. For landing, after ATC says 'Expect vectors for runway xx' (for a vectored approach) or 'Cleared to final runway xx at pilot's discretion' (approach without vectors) you use the Ctrl+Shift+W key sequence to request a different runway. The runway options are presented in sequence and you make your selection. If you are changing the departure runway, you need to be sure TGS is not running before you request a runway change. TGS becomes active after you read back your taxi instructions, so if you are using Mode 2 and your CP has acknowledged the taxi instructions, you will need to toggle TGS off using hotkey 1 before requesting a different runway. |

Perfect - worked as advertised. Thank you. Guess I didn't read the documentation closely enough. ![]() |

Does this also work for a voice request, or must it be a hotkey? |

I guess that depends on which voice recognition software you are using and how you configure it. For MCE the answer is 'yes' |
